Once our terrier caught a young opossum, wounding but not killing it. I had to get my husband to club it.

And I still quail at any large knife in someone else’s hand, from the time my father missed with the cleaver and chopped his finger right in front of me.

Sometimes impetuosity can masquerade as fortitude, and unless you have some history to go with it, you can’t see through the disguise.

Excellent watch collection. Gumby is my favorite. My MIL is a watch collector – then again, she’s a shopaholic.
