It’s that time again. This week I decided to think outside the box, that is the icebox.
The following are pictures of frozen blackberries. Each year, I freeze them so I can cook black and blue muffins (combination muffins with blackberries and blueberries) at will, rather than waiting for them to be in season during the summer months.

Macro shots taken with my cell phone’s 3.2 megapixel camera.

I like the term ‘black and blue muffins’. How about black and blue pancakes?
meno, aww now I want pancakes for dinner!
Several years ago my parents gave us one of those waffle irons you sometimes find in hotel lobbies – cook your own belgian waffle – that you pour in the batter, close, and turn.
We like to put fruit and whipped cream on top of them instead of the standard butter/syrup. Whatever fresh fruit we can find. I foresee black and blue waffles in my future.
bob, waffles at home? What a treat!
As delicious as the food that will result from these berries is, the photos are creeping me out. I looked at these back when you posted them and I still think the same thing: body bags.
de, hmmm has someone been watching CSI or perhaps Dexter? I started to post photos of the frozen lasagna, but it lacked the color range and depth of the berries. the ice cream is rarely in the freezer long enough to develop a layer of frost
